ROB WALTON

After serving as a partner at the law firm of Conner & Winters in Tulsa, Rob held several positions at Walmart, including senior vice president, corporate secretary, general counsel, and vice chairman of the board, before serving as chairman from 1992 to 2015.

 He helped take Walmart public in 1970. During his tenure as chairman, Walmart became a global company and rose to the top of the Fortune 500.

 Through the Rob Walton Foundation, he supports efforts to promote nature conservation. The Foundation is a founding partner of the Africa Keystone Protected Area Partnership, a collaborative effort with African governments, communities, NGOs, and funders to strengthen the long-term protection and management of some of the continent’s most important protected and conserved areas. Rob also served on the board of Conservation International and as chair of the board of the African Parks Foundation of America.

 Rob is married to Jordan Rose Walton. He has been a pilot and competitive driver, and is a cyclist who has completed the Leadville 100, Cape Epic, and multiple Ironman Championships. He is a graduate of the University of Arkansas and Columbia University School of Law, and he is an Emeritus Life Trustee at the College of Wooster.
